Grant Writing 101

Representatives of nonprofits, local government, schools, and other organizations in Buchanan County are encouraged to register for the Grant Writing 101 workshop. The workshop will be presented at Heartland Acres Event Center, 2600 Swan Lake Blvd, Independence on Wednesday, November 8th. 5:30-8:30pm.

Grant Writing 101 will provide hands-on training in seeking grants and writing successful grant applications. There will be no fee for participant as it is being sponsored by the Buchanan County ISU Extension and Outreach, Independence Area Chamber of Commerce, and Buchanan County Economic Development – but registration is required by November 7th. A light meal will be provided at the start of the workshop.

Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with them to the workshop.

Grant Writing 101 will be presented by Mark Reinig, Community and Economic Development Specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach. He has extensive experience writing and reviewing grant applications and working with various federal, state, local and private foundation grant programs. Reinig will assist workshop participants in exploring various public and private funding sources, and provide instruction and tips on planning projects and writing successful grant applications.
